Hey guys, I'm excited to announce that the Fictionaire project has just launched. Do check it out at www.Fictionaire.com. It's a social network / fiction writing hybrid that tries hard to bring you the best of both worlds.
Here's some a little blurb from the site:
Anonymity matters, we realize. And so your public Fictionaire Identity begins with just a username. From there, you can create your own "fictional" identity with avatars, alter egos, and descriptive information about who you (or your alias) is. Or, nondescript, you can lumber on. Your call.
If you do create a profile, it might be easier to build your social network, friends whose updates stream back to you on a sort of personal news feed. This makes it easy to keep up with their interests and writing activity, perhaps pointing you towards new stories and authors you might be interested in. If you aren't up to making friends, persay, you may simply subscribe to an author and receive their story updates exclusively. This process is completely anonymous and you receive updates immediately. If you’re only interested in one particular story by this author, you can subscribe just to the story itself (also anonymous) and receive only new chapter updates for that story.
On the writing side, you have a full-fledged HTML-style editor that allows all sorts of font colors, sizes, and styles. It's also easy to cut-and-paste your Word documents into the editor - you won't lose any formatting! You can easily save for later stories that aren't quite done, attach special reader notes to each chapter, and lots more.
Once published, you can track all of your story's statistics by chapter - # of readers, # of subscribed users, average ratings, etc. This information is just for you - no one else can see it. Meanwhile, your stories are plugged into a comprehensive comment and rating system that allows your readers to provide detailed feedback on your chapters and suggest new plans for the future. Every time a user leaves a comment or review like this, you receive a special update on your news feed so you never miss a beat!
Cheers,
Scott

There's a lot more to do on Fictionaire, but I'll let you explore and figure it out. Do check out the Tag System, and please share your stories. We are a brand new site (11/13), after all!
Cheers,
Scott
